NVQS
The NVQ process involves collecting evidence to demonstrate your skills and knowledge. You will work with an assessor to gather documentation, complete site observations, and compile a portfolio that showcases your competence.
To upgrade from a Red Trained Operator Card to a Blue Competent Operator Card, you must complete an NVQ program and pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test. Once completed, you can apply for your Blue card through CITB.
CPCT offers a variety of NVQs, including courses for Forward Tipping Dumper, Telehandler, Hoist, Wheeled Loading Shovel, Ride-on Roller, Crawler Tractor/Dozer, Slinger Signaller, Articulated Dump Truck, Excavator, and Crane Supervisor training.
CPCT provides guidance throughout the NVQ process, helping you gather the necessary evidence and complete your documentation to ensure a smooth transition from your Red card to a Blue card.
The duration of the NVQ process can vary depending on the individual’s pace in gathering evidence and completing the necessary documentation, but it typically requires a commitment to both practical and theoretical assessments.
Obtaining an NVQ not only enhances your qualifications but also increases your employability in the construction industry, allowing you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge effectively.
